BIAW

BIAW's website, which was initially built on WordPress, had become slow, difficult to operate, and heavily dependent on developer help.

The Builders Industry Association of Washington (BIAW) is the primary trade group representing the building industry in Washington. With a growing membership base and increased operational demands, the organization's digital infrastructure struggled to keep up.

Their membership records were kept in Salesforce, which proved to be difficult and inefficient for day-to-day operations. The company required a stable, scalable solution to upgrade its digital presence while also improving internal efficiency, particularly in managing member data, class registrations, and communications.

Challenge

The existing website was outdated and required constant technical assistance to remain functional. The membership management system lacked usability and flexibility. After reviewing alternatives, BIAW identified Airtable as a more practical platform for managing user data. Their primary goal was to simplify operations, eliminate unnecessary complexity, and enhance the member experience through a modern, integrated system.

What We Did

WebSnap worked closely with BIAW to develop and implement a comprehensive revamp of their digital ecosystem. The WordPress website was converted to Webflow, a more robust and user-friendly platform that allows non-technical employees to maintain material autonomously. Simultaneously, we managed a complete transition from Salesforce to Airtable, resulting in more control over membership data and administrative operations.

In addition, we used Memberstack to manage user authentication, Stripe for secure payment transactions, and Make.com to automate processes like email notifications and data syncing. These integrations were created to increase efficiency, decrease repetitive work, and improve the overall user experience throughout the site.

A fast, scalable, and user-friendly digital system was designed to meet current needs while also allowing for future development.

What We Delivered

The final solution delivered a responsive, professional-grade website designed for ease of use and long-term reliability. WebSnap built the site on Webflow, enabling internal staff to update and manage content without external technical support. Memberstack was introduced to handle logins and user access securely, while Stripe allowed for efficient online payments. Member data was moved to Airtable, providing BIAW with a system that is both functional and intuitive.
Through Make.com, a number of key administrative tasks, such as registration confirmations and data processing, were automated. These improvements collectively created a seamless experience for both staff and members, while significantly reducing manual effort and the risk of error.

Key Results & Benefits

The updated platform permits BIAW staff to manage membership, registrations, and communications in‑house without calling on technical specialists. This change improves daily operations and lowers administrative costs. Airtable’s simplicity makes member data easy to handle, and automation streamlines recurring tasks. Members now enjoy a more consistent online experience, from class registration to payment: interactions are straightforward, fast, and convenient. The modular design ensures the system can scale and adapt as BIAW’s needs change.

With modern tools and streamlined workflows, BIAW now delivers a higher level of service, consistently and with confidence.

Why It Matters

A stable digital foundation allows an organization to focus on its primary objective.  BIAW is now better positioned to help its members, function more efficiently, and face the future with confidence after investing in the necessary tools and processes.
